Zara Asker is the former Chairwoman of CHERUB.

Background

Zara Asker was born Jacqueline Oxford in Telford, Shropshire in 1970.

Her parents were TV documentary makers who died in a plane crash over the Amazon when Zara was just a toddler. She went to live with her Grandfather until he died of a heart attack in 1977.

Family

Zara lives in a cottage near to CHERUB campus with her husband Ewart, the current Chairman of CHERUB. Zara and Ewart have three children called Joshua, Tiffany and Jonah.

Career Record

1978: JOINED CHERUB AGE 8, PASSED BASIC TRAINING

1984: ATTAINED BLACK CHERUB SHIRT, BECOMING ONE OF THE YOUNGEST CHERUB AGENTS EVER TO DO SO.

1988: RETIRED AS AN AGENT AFTER 14 MISSIONS.

1989-91: ATTAINED A DEGREE IN INTERNATIONAL POLITICS AT YALE UNIVERSITY IN THE UNITED STATES

1991-96: BEGAN WORKING FOR THE UNITED NATIONS. INITIALLY IN AN ADMINISTRATIVE POST IN NEW YORK, BEFORE WORKING ON PEACEKEEPING MISSIONS THROUGHOUT THE WORLD.

1996: REJOINED CHERUB AS ASSISTANT MISSION CONTROLLER

2000: PROMOTED TO MISSION CONTROLLER

2003: PROMOTED TO SENIOR MISSION CONTROLLER

2006: REPLACED DR McAFFERTY AS CHERUB CHAIRMAN

2016: Steps down from Chairwoman after a decade in this post. She takes on a part-time job as CHERUB's disciplinarian for severe breaches of CHERUB's policies in New Guard.
